I have a secret. The secret…. is the dahlia variety Chimacum Night. I was gifted this variety years ago in a Dahlia swap, and I have held onto it for dear life since, as it is nowhere to be found. I was always indifferent to burgundy varieties until this one. The color is neither plum nor red but a rich chocolatey burgundy that pairs perfectly with blush and fall tones. The plant has a great habit, is strong, not prone to falling over, and has solid stems (per the Chimacum dahlia family). If you are a color enthusiast like me, this variety won’t disappoint. Oh, and florists LOVE it!
